- Develops software components with little supervision
- Provide technical leadership for software project teams of 2-4
engineers
- Provides reliable estimates of effort and good identification of
risks and assumptions
- Gains significant business and system knowledge for a set of
related components
- Contributes significantly to system design and requirements
analysis
- Mentors junior developers in critical software engineering skills,
including OO design and OO programming
- Prioritizes work on several projects at a time
- Applies good software engineering processes including iterative
development, test driven development, automated unit tests, source code
control, design reviews, and code reviews
- Applies experience, system, and domain knowledge to provide
creative leadership toward diagnosing and fixing complex system problems
Stays current with technology and industry best practices
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must have a
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent
experience
- Must have a
minimum of five (5) years experience in software engineering
- Must have a
minimum of five (5) years experience developing desktop and server
applications
for Microsoft Windows environments in C++, C# or Java
Desired skills:
- Must have two
(2) years proven team leadership experience
- Must have
excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have
experience with multi-threaded server applications
- Must have
experience designing database schemas and writing stored procedures
- Must have
significant experience with at least one industrial strength application
architecture and knowledge of a variety of architectures
